Which Way will you Ruminate?

This diptych explores the nature of rumination and the choices we make in directing our thoughts. Growing up in a tumultuous household, I experienced a constant flood of internal questions, often negative and unspoken. The work reflects the agency to choose whether to ruminate on the harm or on the positive experiences. It considers how memory, experience, and reflection shape perception, highlighting the tension between the weight of the past and the possibility of focusing on growth, resilience, and moments of care within challenging environments.
